Melanie Lynskey

 Melanie Jayne Lynskey was born 16 May 1977 in New Zealand. She is well-known for her portrayals complex women and her fluency in American dialects. She primarily works in films that are independent. Lynskey has been the recipient of two Critics’ Choice Awards, an HCA Award and a Gracie. She also won a New Zealand Film Award and an Hollywood Film Award.





 Lynskey was a screen actor at the time she made her debut in Heavenly Creatures (1994). She was awarded an New Zealand Film Award for her role as Pauline Parker, a teenage serial killer. Later, she appeared in a variety of productions in the world, including Ever After (1998), Detroit Rock City, But I'm a cheerleader The Cherry Orchard (all 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000), Snakeskin (2001), Shooters, Abandon, and Sweet Home Alabama (all 2002). Lynskey gained a reputation for herself as a character actor following her arrival in United States.





 Lynskey's leading role in the film Hello I Must Be Going as an emotionally depressed divorcee earned her praise from critics in 2012 and received a Gotham Award nomination. This was a pivotal moment in the life of Lynskey. The Big Ask (2013), Happy Christmas. We'll Never See Paris. Goodbye to All That (all 2015), The Intervention. Rainbow Time. Little Boxes (all 2016) I'm Not Feeling At In This World. And Then I Go. Lady of the Manor. (2021). Lynskey was well-known in the American independent film industry.
