 Personal life



 Jessica Steen was born in Toronto (Ontario) to Joanna Noyes, an actor and director, as well as Jan Steen who is a actor and director. She is of Dutch and Scottish heritage.



 



 Steen is also an advocate for animal rights and environmentalist, in addition to her entertainment business. Steen supports David Suzuki, the World Society for the Protection of Animals and the Western Canadian Wilderness Committee. She is certified to dive and has learned a number of circus arts, such as stilt-walking, fire-twirling, and stilt-walking.
